Before we left on our mission, three of my granddaughters wrote their testimonies in Books of Mormon and asked us to give them to little girls we would meet in Africa. The first book, from Louisa, went to a little girl named Precious. Precious came to our apartment with her big sister. While her big sister cleaned, she sat very still having been instructed not to get in the way. We asked her sister’s permission, then told Precious all about Louisa and how much Louisa wanted a little girl her age to be given the Book of Mormon that she had written her testimony in.
The next two books were from Annie and Laura and went to sisters in Swedru. Swedru is in the country, or bush. The homes are very humble, one room, made of red adobe bricks, their water is from a shared bore hole in their village common, they have village chiefs, and they must harvest and grind all of their grains for food. When I met these two girls, I told them about Laura's and Annie's gifts. The girls were delighted to see Annie's and Laura's pictures and read their testimonies. They were delighted that two American girls would think to share their testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ with them.
Way to be missionaries girls! You invited others to come to Christ. Grandpa and I are proud of you!
