Elder Nnadi, a YSA Service Missionary from Owerri, Nigeria, spoke for all the participants in the recent YSA Leader Conference in Accra when he proclaimed: “The training needs to be shouted from the mountain tops! We will not rest until we have left our footprints on the sands of time!”
Our AWA YSA couples, the Munks, Platts, and Poulters, feel exactly the same!
The “YSA initiative of Locally Supported Gathering Places and Transition for Returning Missionaries” has been the focus of the Area Presidency and for Elder and Sister Munk during their entire mission. The Platts and the Poulters have joined in this passion and the rest of their labors shined in the eyes of the 19 1/2 couples who attended the conference. (The other 1/2 of a couple was home with her 4-day-old baby, but her husband recorded every session for her.)
This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for these faithful YSA Service Missionary couples. They bonded with each other as they listened to inspiring messages (four couples via English-to-French translation), and shared successes and concerns. attended the temple together, met the Area Presidency, and toured the MTC.
They loved crowding around the new YSA wall map and photo display on the ground floor of the Area Offices. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out. It is amazing!
They left with heightened testimony and commitment and as Elder Klebingat instructed, will:
“Go back into your coordinating councils, head held high. When you speak and teach, the YSA and the leaders will feel your power and love. You are representing the Lord and Area Presidency in this very important assignment.” - Elder Klebingat
The couples love the Senior Missionaries and to prove it they made them matching dresses and Kente cloths.
Many petitions are being sent heavenward that the First Presidency will give final approval for AWA Gathering Place funding this Friday.
